The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a detail-oriented professional to join the Office of Probation Services, Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) in the Southern Regional Office in Cherry Hill. Responsibilities

  • Assign, monitor, evaluate, review, lead, and oversee the work in both the office and in the field for activities and staff resources.
  • Represent ISP on various internal and external committee groups.
  • Oversee a team consisting of professional, paraprofessional, and support staff employees with the responsibility for assigning work.
  • Implement and ensure sustainability of ISP policy and procedure and hold staff accountable for same.
  • Provide customer service to clients and direct and coordinate work between units or teams.
  • Communicate human resources policies, rules, or regulations to team members; schedule team members work hours or vacation time; conduct formal work performance evaluations with staff; evaluate unit or team performance and mediate staff conflicts.
  • Review and correct the work of staff for accuracy and completeness; enforce court orders and monitor financial collections.
  • Provide superior customer service within and outside the Judiciary in addition to any other assignments as they are presented.

SALARY

The salary range for this position is $85,524.22 to $138,623.68 for Schedule A, and $85,524.22 to $131,692.50 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule B.

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational awareness, planning, and evaluating, customer service, and leadership skills to join the Office of Probation Services, Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) in the Southern Regional Office (Cherry Hill). Under the general direction of the Regional Manager (Court Executive 2B). The selected individual must be able to handle a variety of technical and client support functions in a fast-paced office and field environment.

The Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) is a program designed to treat both adult inmates and juvenile offenders in the community under strict supervision. The individual having gone through a rigorous screening process, is given an opportunity to abide by a set of rules and thereby earn their continued release to the community. The reorientation to the community depends upon that individual’s commitment to change.

Special Note

ISP/JISP is a statewide program. Management reserves the right to reassign employees based on operational needs. The selected candidate should have knowledge of offender supervision strategies. This position is required to work an alternate work week schedule which will include weekends and nights. The Intensive Supervision Program operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

REMOTE WORK

The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Selected candidate may be required to work evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and/or holidays.

Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and five years of professional experience, two years of which shall have included experience in case management; enforcement of court orders; and/or supervision, monitoring and intervention of offenders.

Substitution

Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above –OR– a law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above.

Driver's License

Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Authorization to Work

US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law

In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act", all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
