Kansas Office of Judicial Administration invites applications for Court Services Officer I in the 20th Judicial District, Barton County, KS. You will supervise adults and juveniles under court supervision and provide auxiliary services in collaboration with district court teams.

Starting pay is $29.07 per hour, with increases to $29.81 after 6 months and $32.09 after one year, plus comprehensive State Benefits.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in corrections, counseling, criminology, psychology, social work, sociology, or a closely related field.

Position/Salary and Benefits: Court Services Officer I, grade 36, $ 29.07 hourly

$29.81 after 6 months of successful performance

$32.09 after 1-year of successful performance

This position manages adults and juveniles who are under the supervision of the district court or are being furnished auxiliary services by the district court.

Job duties

• Writing comprehensive investigative reports, maintaining documentation of case contacts and keeping accurate filing and database information.
• Communicating and interacting with offenders under the court's jurisdiction and with other parties concerned in the investigation and preparation of reports for the court
• Assisting offenders in understanding and meeting requirements that have been placed upon them; assisting them in identifying needs and appropriate resources.
• Preparing reports related to the transfer of supervision, case reports, violation reports, risk assessments, and Pre-Sentence Investigations.
• Working closely with resource agencies in the community.
• Work is performed independently or in teams under the general direction of a senior court services officer and is reviewed through staffing, reports, and caseload audits

Required education and experience

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in corrections, counseling, criminology, psychology, social work, sociology, or a closely related field.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• A working knowledge of the Court and its functions.
• Familiarity with substance abuse issues and probation methods.
• Computer knowledge and experience.
