Job summary

The City of Amarillo is seeking a qualified Court Bailiff to ensure the security and orderly conduct of court proceedings, supporting judges, court staff, and the public. Under supervision, the Bailiff preserves courtroom decorum, maintains security, and responds to emergencies to keep proceedings efficient and safe.

Starting pay is $20.00/hr. The role requires ability to handle difficult situations, operate court A/V equipment, and coordinate with various court personnel.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience in security or law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Maintains order for court hearings and deals with difficult people in public areas and courtrooms.
• Opens the Municipal Court building and ensures security at start/end of day.
• Ensures courtrooms and equipment (sound, recording, security, AV) are functioning properly.
• Assists judges and staff in preparing courtrooms and handling records during sessions.
