Job summary

The Macon-Bibb County Consolidated Government is seeking a Court Security Officer to provide security at the Bibb County Courthouse. The role involves screening individuals and belongings, patrolling the building and perimeter, and monitoring security systems to protect staff and the public.

Qualified candidates will have at least a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of three years in security, plus the ability to meet training requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of security experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Able to meet training and background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Screen courthouse employees, visitors, and items using an x-ray machine, magnetometer, hand-held detector, and physical hand frisk.
• Perform building and perimeter security checks; monitor cameras and control room monitors.
• Lock and unlock doors and reset alarms as needed.
• Provide directions and assistance to the public.
• Evacuate the building during a fire alarm or bomb threat; guard entrances until threat is ended; re-screen entrants.
• Answer and respond to panic alarms in offices, courtrooms, or judges' chambers.
• Assist Deputy Sheriff with transporting inmates taken into custody.
• Prepare door access cards/badges for staff, attorneys, and law clerks.
