Qualifications

• Must possess a CA Certified Shorthand Reporter certificate or evidence of testing under Govt Code 69942.
• Ability to take machine shorthand at required speeds for licensing.

Responsibilities

• Record verbatim testimony and court proceedings using shorthand or voice writing.
• Read back and certify portions of proceedings as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality of records and handle sensitive information.
• Prepare transcripts and maintain equipment and supplies as needed.
• Communicate terminology accurately and coordinate with court staff.
