The Superior Court of California, County of Imperial seeks a qualified Court Interpreter to provide live verbal interpretations in courtroom proceedings and translate written materials as needed.
Under supervision, this role requires certification, travel to branch courts, confidentiality, and ethics, with strong language skills in English and a designated second language.
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, provide verbal interpretations of questions, testimony, arguments and other courtroom proceedings for defendants, judges, counsel, jurors, witnesses and others; translate written materials and legal documents in the courtroom.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to: consistent with requirements set by the State of California for a Certified Court Interpreter.
Valid Court Interpreter Certification from the Judicial Council of California.
A valid California Class C driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Court's vehicle insurance policy.
