Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field with coursework in social work, social welfare, criminal justice, human services, counseling, psychology, sociology or related social sciences.
• Excess work experience substituting for education may be counted on a year-for-year basis.
• Ability to write clear reports and interpret complex written material.
• Possession of a current and valid driver’s license is required.
• PREA-related disclosures may be required as part of the screening process.

Responsibilities

• Supervise juvenile and adult violators, and defendants released from Hawaii State Hospital, or juvenile status offenders.
• Conduct child custody/visitation evaluations.
• Assist protection order petitioners and child welfare cases referred to Family Court.
• Provide services to juveniles in temporary detention and engage families in juvenile cases.
• Perform social work tasks from simple to moderately difficult, including case records and reports.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Social Work

Master's degree in Social Work or Criminal Justice Administration

Ph.D. in Social Work or Criminal Justice Administration
