Qualifications

• Bailiff I requires high school diploma and POS T Category II (or higher) certification or enrollment in POS T Category II academy.
• Bailiff II requires two years of full-time experience as a Bailiff/Marshal in a court or similar setting, or as a sworn law enforcement officer.
• All qualifying education and each experience must be documented in the Education and Work Experience sections of the application.

Responsibilities

• Monitor court security and transport detainees as directed by the court.
• Maintain decorum and protect court personnel, attorneys, and visitors.
• Open/close secured areas and set up the courtroom for operation.
• Coordinate with judges, attorneys, staff and the public to ensure orderly court proceedings.
• Provide emergency response and basic first aid or CPR if required.
• Operate courtroom recording equipment as needed.
• May execute warrants of arrest as assigned.

Education

POS T Category II certification or acceptance into POS T Category II academy

Two years of full-time experience as Bailiff/Marshal or sworn law enforcement officer
