Oakland University’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) seeks a motivated, recent graduate to help build engaging, self-paced online learning opportunities for faculty development programs. You will help develop online modules, create templates, and support digital accessibility efforts to foster inclusive teaching practices.

The ideal candidate has foundational instructional design experience and will adapt live workshop materials for online use while collaborating with SMEs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Foundational experience in developing self-paced online modules or courses.
  • Familiarity with Moodle and interactive content tools such as H5P.
  • Ability to evaluate digital materials for accessibility and apply accessibility standards.
  • Strong written communication and ability to synthesize information into structured documents and templates.
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty and SMEs to gather and refine content.

Responsibilities

  • Develop self-paced online modules for university professors using LMS such as eSpace and Moodle.
  • Design interactive online components utilizing H5P and adapt live materials for online audiences.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to guide content and teaching frameworks.
  • Create course build processes, starter documents, and templates for future course development.
  • Apply digital accessibility standards to content, websites, documents, and videos using Panorama.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Foundational experience in developing self-paced online modules or courses.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (such as Moodle) and interactive content creation tools (such as H5P).
  • Ability to evaluate digital materials for accessibility and apply digital accessibility standards.
  • Strong written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to synthesize information into structured documents, guides, and templates.
  • Ability to collaborate professionally with faculty and subject matter experts to gather and refine information.
Desired Qualifications

Prior experience interning or working within a university teaching and learning center. Experience editing videos (using software such as Camtasia). Experience properly and transparently utilizing generative AI tools to brainstorm and draft professional resources.

Job Duties
  • Develop self-paced online modules for university professors using Learning Management Systems (eSpace, Moodle).
  • Design and integrate interactive online learning components utilizing H5P. Adapt live workshop presentations, recordings, and materials for an online audience.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to guide academic content and teaching frameworks.

  • Apply digital accessibility standards to course content, websites, documents, and videos using tools like Panorama.
