Job summary

TPC Summerlin is seeking a friendly Course Advisor/Starter to assist Members and Guests, ensuring a smooth, enjoyable visit and safe play at the Las Vegas course. You will greet guests, promote the club’s service standards, and help manage pace of play throughout shifts on site.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma and basic golf knowledge, with prior golf-club experience preferred. This role involves outdoor work and variable schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist PGA TOUR players, Members and Guests with golfing needs to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
• Greet and welcome all Members and Guests and promote the course's service philosophy.
• Communicate emergency and safety information calmly and clearly when needed.
• Observe pace of play and maintain course standards daily.
• Provide information to help guests play the course, e.g., yardage markers on sprinkler heads.
• Handle special projects or other duties as assigned

The Course Advisor/Starter monitors play on the golf course, and politely requests slow groups to speed up play. The Starter welcomes the Member and/or Guest to the course and reminds players of special play conditions, such as keeping cars on car paths.

QUALIFICATIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• Assist PGA TOUR players, Members and Guests with their golfing needs, ensuring that every step of their golf experience at the club runs as smoothly and is as enjoyable as possible
• Greet and welcome all Members and Guests and positively promote the service philosophy of the TPC and PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc
• Communicate emergency and safety information to Members and Guests in a calm and clear professional manner when alarm is sounded
• Observe play on the golf course and ensure the standard is communicated and maintained daily as it relates to pace of play
• Assist Members and Guests with information that may help them play the course (e.g., yardage markers on sprinkler heads to middle of green)
• Special projects or other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 25 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
