Job summary

Federal Express Corporation in Traverse City is seeking a full-time courier to operate company vehicles, deliver and pick up packages, and provide courteous customer service on all assigned routes. You will check shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards and maintain a safe driving record while supporting the station's service area.

Adherence to FMCSA regulations is required and a valid driver's license must be kept current.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months courier experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Able to read and speak English sufficiently for traffic signs and inquiries.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages on assigned routes.
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards.
• Provide courteous customer service to customers.
• Maintain awareness of station service area and follow safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED.

Minimum Experience

Six (6) months courier experience preferred. Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Job Conditions

Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet and maintain the qualifications as outlined in the federal motor carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Note: there are specific requirements for any employee that operates a company vehicle. Please refer to policy 4-48 for exact job requirements. Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with your state requirements for type of vehicle assigned and have good driving record as outlined in policy. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Preferred Qualifications

Pay Transparency: $22.30 per hour.
