Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill is seeking a part-time courier/administrative support role within the Oncology Op Infusion Center. This onsite position handles reports, mail, and supply delivery and supports specimen transport with timely, confidential handling.

No licensure or prior experience is required. Work is onsite with a 20 hours/week schedule; salary ranges from $18.00 to $24.66 per hour, hiring range determined by experience and internal equity.

• Properly prepares coolers for transporting specimens and stores specimens for transport according to departmental guidelines.
• Retrieves outgoing mail, and lab specimens to be distributed appropriately. Processes samples or requisitions following department guidelines.
• Delivers specimens to the laboratory and reconciles specimen count with laboratory staff according to departmental procedures.
• Answers the telephone, provides information, routes calls, and operates a cellular phone to optimize communication with the department.
• Provides information to employees regarding courier routes and courier procedures according to established policies.
