Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a part-time driver/operator to deliver and pick up packages using company vehicles. You will ensure courteous customer service and verify shipments for FedEx service standards. Must be at least 21 and licensed for the vehicle type. High school diploma or GED required.

Role is non-covered safety-sensitive with early morning hours Tue-Sat 6am-12pm. Equal opportunity employer; accommodations available upon request.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver packages of any weight with assistance as needed.
• Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and respond to directions.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Driver/operator of company vehicles delivering and picking up packages.
• Provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of shipments to customers.
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and perform related customer service functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned and operate within FMCSA guidelines.

Job description

Driver/operator of company vehicles. Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions. Drives vehicles not regulated by section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lift 50 Lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and communication skills. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Job Conditions

Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.
