UPS is seeking a full-time driver in the Boston/Chelsea, MA area to pick up and deliver packages. Qualifying candidates will have a valid Class D license, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift over 70 lbs. TSA testing is required, along with background and drug screening.

The role entails 40 hours per week, shift hours overnight and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Training and background checks are part of the onboarding process.

We currently seeking a driver to pick up and deliver packages from local customer locations in the Boston / Chelsea, MA area.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload shipments for delivery.
• Knowledge of and abide by all safety, security, and operating procedures for pickup and delivery of customer packages and operating motor vehicles including remaining in compliance with all Federal, state, and local laws.
• Scan information on airbills and manifests.

Requirements

• Applicants must complete TSA testing.
• Position requires the ability to communicate (write and speak) in English and the ability to provide general direction to others.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• Applicants must possess a valid class "D" driver's license (a CDL is NOT required).
• Applicants must have a clean driving record for the last 3 years with no tickets or accidents and maintain that driving record.
• Applicants must be able to lift in excess of 70 lbs.
• Applicants must be able to pass a strict credit check, a 10-year documented background check, and a criminal history check, including past employment verification, education verification, criminal history records check and must be able to pass a drug screen.
• Applicants must be able to provide a high school diploma, GED transcripts, or a higher education diploma.

This position is a Full-Time position, 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday from 12:00 AM (midnight) - 8:00 AM. You will also be expected to cover when the other drivers are on vacation or leave sick. Please be advised that due to the nature of our business, you will be subject to strict background investigations including past employment verification, criminal history records check and must be able to pass a drug screen. All applicants must complete the 10-year employment/education history indicating any periods of unemployment.

All qualified candidates hired as of July 1, 2021 will be awarded with a $1000 USD sign-on/retention bonus. The bonus will be distributed in two equal payments to the hired candidate that is active at the time of payout. The first payment of $500 will be distributed following the hired candidate’s successful completion of 90 days. The second payment of $500 will be distributed after the hired candidate has completed six months of continuous service.

Compensation & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $17.65 per hour to $29.40 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience.
