Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a diligent Messenger/Courier for the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono location. The role involves pickup and delivery of medical and nonmedical items, mail, medical records, x-rays, and related paperwork between Pocono Medical Center and off-campus sites.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, vehicle inspection, and ensuring timely, accurate transport of specimens, documents, and supplies across the Medical Center campus and partner locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission.
• Cross-trained with Shuttle Drivers and Valet Attendants.

• Oversees emergencies during non-business hours, alternating schedules.
• Maintains vehicles by following departmental policies for service, gas, and washing in accordance with vehicle warranty specifications.
• Collects pickups and deliveries of laboratory specimens, x-rays, and related paperwork between the Medical Center, physicians' offices, Cancer Center, and other off campus locations.
• Collects pickups of financial documents, mail, and records between the Finance Department and Medical Center.
• Collects and delivers mail and other supplies between the United States Post Office, Medical Center, and off campus locations.

Summary

Upon Hire

Physical Demands Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
