Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a Driver / Operator to deliver and pick up packages in New York with courtesy and efficiency. You will verify shipments for conformance to FedEx standards and provide related customer service.

These positions run Monday through Friday on split shifts with hours 8:30 AM–12:30 PM and 3:00 PM–8:00 PM. A high school diploma or GED and a valid license for the vehicle are required, as is the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and maneuver packages of any weight with appropriate equipment or assistance.
• Must meet FMCSA regulations and be able to pass medical exam as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up packages for FedEx customers.
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards and provide related customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

These are Monday through Friday split shift positions.

Approximate Shift Hours Are Mon-Fri

0830 AM -1230 PM and 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

May include AM and PM sort functions.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
