Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a driver/operator to deliver and pick up packages, providing courteous service and ensuring shipment conformance to FedEx standards. The role requires a high school diploma/GED and a valid license for the vehicle type, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and communicate in English.

This is a full-time position with a steady morning schedule. AM/FT Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-4:00 PM, with accommodations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid license for the vehicle type assigned is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver heavier packages with assistance when needed.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for traffic signs and directions per FMCSA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up packages using company vehicles.
• Ensure shipments conform to FedEx service standards and provide customer service as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Job description

Driver / operator of company vehicles. Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
