Job summary

FedEx Corporation in Alaska seeks a Driver/Operator for company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages with courtesy and efficiency. You will check shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards and provide related customer service functions.

Typical schedule Monday–Friday 8am–5pm. You must be at least 21, pass FMCSA medical exams, and meet English language requirements. This is a full-time, on-site position with equal opportunity employer statements included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and valid vehicle license for the assigned type.
• Able to lift 50 lbs; heavier packages with equipment or assistance.
• Good verbal communication and neat appearance for customer contact.
• Must meet FMCSA safety regulations and medical exam requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years old and fluent in English.

Job description

Driver / operator of company vehicles. Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
