Job summary

FedEx is seeking a driver/operator to deliver and pick up packages using company vehicles. The role emphasizes courteous, efficient service and compliance with FedEx service standards and safety rules.

You will work Mon-Fri with a late afternoon/early evening schedule, and must hold a high school diploma or GED and a valid vehicle-type license. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and reading/speaking English adequately.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver heavier packages with equipment/assistance.
• Strong verbal communication and neat personal appearance required for customer contact.
• Must meet qualifications per FMCSA; medical exam required; 21+ years old; read/speak English sufficiently.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate FedEx vehicles to deliver and pick up packages.

• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Driver / operator of company vehicles. Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
