Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a Driver/Operator for company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages and provide courteous customer service. The role requires license for the vehicle type and adherence to safety and FMCSA regulations.

Starting wage is $23.16 per hour with shift from 3:00pm to 10:00pm, Monday through Saturday, SIDA required. Equal opportunity employer with E-Verify participation.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs; heavier packages with equipment/assistance.
• Must meet FMCSA safety regulations (section 391).
• Medical exam required per FMCSA/FAA regulations.
• Neat appearance due to customer contact requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for traffic signs/directions.

Job description

Driver / operator of company vehicles. Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
