Job summary

Federal Express Corporation in Gulfport, MS, is seeking a driver/operator of company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages with courteous and efficient service.

You will check shipments for conformance to FedEx standards and provide related customer service, with duties as assigned.

Shift schedule: Monday–Friday (PM), Saturday 08:00–15:00; day off to be determined. Requires high school diploma/GED and a valid license for the vehicle type; must lift 50 lbs and read/speak English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license for the vehicle type.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle heavier packages with equipment or assistance.
• Must meet FMCSA safety regulations and be able to read/speak English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up packages using company vehicles, providing courteous service.
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards and perform related customer service tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Driver / operator of company vehicles. Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Monday through Friday (PM Shift), Saturday (0800-1500). Day off during the week to be determined.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
