Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8-13 students living in the home.

Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off, with a transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group. Salary around $46,917 per person, plus comprehensive benefits and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person couple role; married at least two years.
• Spouses aged 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (no proselytizing).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one approved dog.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities and engaging in development and recreation
• Leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
