Job summary

Norman County Social Service Center is hiring a full-time County Agency Social Worker (35 hours per week). The starting salary is $31.08-$34.90 per hour.

The role involves assessment, case management, care coordination, and protective services for adults with disabilities and vulnerable adults. You will work under the Agency Director and Team Lead, administering programs and coordinating with health plans, families, and state agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field.
• One year of social worker experience in public/private agency.

Job description

NormanCounty Social Service Center is hiring a full time (35 hours per week) County Agency Social Worker position.Starting Salary is $31.08 - $34.90 per hour.

Under the direction of the Agency Director and the designated Social Worker Team Lead, the County Agency Case Manager provides assessment, case management, care coordination, adult protective services, and service planning for adults with disabilities, older adults, and vulnerable adults.

The position administers assigned state and federal programs, including home and community-based waivers, managed-care coordination, MN-Choices Assessments, Obra Level II activities, and other adult services in accordance with applicable statutes, rules, contracts and agency policies.

The position also performs assigned child foster care recruitment, licensing, home assessment, compliance monitoring, and provider-support activities. The worker coordinates services and safety responses with individuals, families, foster care applicants and providers, case managers, health plans, community partners, law enforcement, legal counsel, and state agencies.

MN Merit System Examples of Duties:

• Interviews clients at intake.
• Carries a caseload where a need for continuing social casework predominates.
• Provides counseling to families and individuals.
• Conducts complex case evaluation for the purpose of assessing problems and determining appropriate types and methods of treatment.
• Prepares intensive long or short-term treatment plan, which require a farm of casework knowledge.
• Identifies client situations, which require intensified service and brings to the attention of supervisor for help or referral.
• Providesadult and child protective services.
• Provides vocation/employment services.
• Provides adult and children's mental health services and services to persons with disabilities.
• Provides or assists in providing services to other cases involving difficult or complex social and financial problems.
• Interprets programs to clients, refers clients to appropriate community services.
• Interprets social and emotional factors to others involved in treatment of clients.
• Prepares social histories with emphasis on psychosocial factors, adoption, or foster home placements.
• Supervises foster home placements.
• Interviews and screens prospective adoptive parents.
• Provides preventive services.
• Interprets policies and regulations to clients.
• Provides casework services for rehabilitation and care of children.
• Prepares and maintains case records which meet federal, state and local guidelines.
• Dictates findings and correspondence.
• Prepares regular and special reports.
• May provide work direction to social workparaprofessionals.
• Participates in in-service training and other staff development activities to increase knowledge of social work processes and skill in application to individual cases.

Merit Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in social work, psychology, sociology or closely related field.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in any field and one (1) year of experience as a social worker in a public or private social services agency.
