Job summary

DTCC in New Jersey seeks a Counterparty Credit Risk professional to analyze financial statements, assess creditworthiness, and monitor risk across a portfolio of complex counterparties in a hybrid work environment.

The role requires 4–6 years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree, with collaboration across Market Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Relationship Management to design and implement risk monitoring tools and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for analyzing financial statements and applying credit expertise and judgement to identify credit risks, mitigants, and trends for financial institutions’ (e.g., banks, broker-dealers, etc.).
  • Independently perform annual reviews and ongoing surveillance of member firms to assess their creditworthiness and proactively identify member firms that need to be subjected to additional surveillance or mitigants.
  • Apply advanced credit knowledge to assist with the design of credit risk monitoring tools, automation, and other risk-related initiatives.
  • Collaborate and develop relationships with internal departments (Market Risk, Product Management, Relationship Management, Legal, and Compliance, etc.), including senior staff of those departments.
  • Analyze new member full-service applications to assess whether the applicants’ financial condition meets DTCC member requirements.
  • Apply an advanced understanding of DTCC's business, CCR's processes, and the risk environment.
  • Demonstrate values across the team and for junior department members, including adherence to risk-related policies, regulatory awareness, and promoting a risk management mindset.
  • Responsible for a portfolio of more complex counterparties.
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately

The Impact You Will Have In This Role

Systemic Risk is defined as the risk that the effect of adverse events within the broadly defined financial services industry, including the financial industries critical infrastructures, caused by members or inflicted through external channels, are transmitted across the industry, markets, products and or structures. Counterparty Credit Risk is primarily responsible for assessing the financial stability of DTCC's member firms by interpreting financial statements of banks, broker-dealers, and other financial firms The Counterparty Credit Risk team is primarily responsible for assessing the financial stability of DTCC's member firms by interpreting financial statements of banks, broker-dealers, and other financial firms. The team is responsible for a portfolio of member firms and is required to perform annual reviews and ongoing surveillance, as well as review new member applications. The team is also tasked with maintenance of the credit risk rating matrix and assessing compliance with established financial parameters and keeping current on new accounting and regulatory pronouncements that impact member firms.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
