Alsco in Columbia, SC is seeking a Counter-Sorter to handle and sort incoming soiled textiles from various customers such as restaurants and hotels. Your role will involve identifying damaged items and ensuring efficient processing according to company standards.
The position requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and teamwork to support production flow. Benefits include healthcare, pension plans, and employee assistance programs.
The Counter-Sorter handles, counts, sorts and records incoming soiled textiles from the customer. You will identify damaged or abused textiles and prepare and transfer textiles to other departments. You will report to the Production Manager. Hourly rate for this position is $15.10
You will perform physical tasks throughout the work shift. These tasks include standing and walking for extended periods; reach overhead; push and pull carts or bins; grasp and handle textiles; lift up to 50 pounds; and stoop or bend.
Work in production areas of an industrial laundry facility may include exposure to temperature variations, humidity, odors, lint, and dust.
Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire shift.
Soiled textiles come from a variety of customers such as restaurants, hotels, medical facilities, and shops.
