Job summary

GPC is seeking a NAPA Automotive Parts Specialist in the Detroit area. This role emphasizes helping fleet customers with parts and service needs, drawing on deep automotive parts knowledge to support teammates and answer questions.

You will interact with management and technicians, deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced environment, and ensure accurate parts are researched and sourced while communicating availability to customers. A strong customer-centric approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License.
• Experience in a parts store or automotive industry or willingness to learn auto parts.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Technical or Trade school courses or degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Great listening skills and empathy for customers.
• Ability to work in an airport environment in a shop setting.
• Background or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, diesel, marine, or dealership.
• Experience in airport ground support equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge of cataloging, sourcing, and/or inventory management systems.
• Customer-centric attitude.
• ASE Certifications.

What you’ll need:

• Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry or at least a willingness to learn all things auto parts

• Technical or Trade school courses or degree

• Ability to work on or around an airport environment in a shop environment
• Background and/or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership (not a deal breaker if you don’t)
• Experience in airport ground support equipment
• Knowledge of cataloging, sourcing, and/or inventory management systems, a plus
• Entirely customer-centric (external/internal)
• ASE Certifications
