An Counter Sales Representative will partner with our customers to provide industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies. You will serve as a trusted guide, advising customers on the tools, hardware, and materials needed to successfully complete their projects. By demonstrating equipment use and sharing insights on product quality, you help our customers pioneer new solutions in their own work. Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment to ensure a secure environment for everyone. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external partners, fostering understanding and long-term relationships. Ensures all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing. Partners with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their specific tasks; demonstrates equipment use to build customer confidence. Manages order entry and processes transactions; assists the team with the reconciliation of deposits. Coordinates via phone, e-mail, and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery. Contributes to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and success of the branch. Coordinates the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs. Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive manner with customers, vendors, and colleagues. Stocks shelves and maintains welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience. Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization Performing various duties in the plant to include forklift operation, material handling and sorting, inspecting, and or cylinder maintenance work. Inspects cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards. Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests and checking caps and valves. Analyzes products for purity and correct mixtures. Handles high-pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders. Prepares high-pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling. Attaches to the manifold and evacuates cylinders to eliminate all possible contaminants. Assists with the loading and unloading of cylinders on and off pallets and tractor trailers. Operates a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment. Manages paperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA and Airgas standards. Completes quality control sheets as required. Understands hazards of various gases, sizes, and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks. Accurately labels cylinders. Complies with all government and company standards for safely handling hazardous materials/cylinder gases.
