Job summary

Airgas in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to join our retail team. You will sell industrial gases, welding supplies, and related equipment to businesses and customers, process quotes and orders, and help maintain a neat showroom.

You will build relationships, provide expert product guidance, handle cash transactions, and coordinate delivery schedules while minimizing emergency deliveries. The role requires strong communication, reliability, and a customer‑focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or sales.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use order entry systems.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Analytical thinking to assess customer situations and provide solutions.

The Counter Sales Representative will act as a Sales Associate for the retail store by selling products to businesses and industrial customers.

Proactively sell industrial gasses, welding supplies, and related equipment to both existing and potential customers.

Handle all sales‑related paperwork, including documenting sales, quotes, and pertinent customer details.

Provide insightful answers to customer inquiries and offer expert guidance on suitable equipment and procedures.

Help maintain a neat and orderly showroom.

Assist customers with merchandise and facilitate the loading and unloading of cylinders.

Cultivate and nurture positive customer relations.

Communicate effectively in‑person and over the phone to offer information on costs, ordering, and delivery schedules.

Monitor customer needs and collaboratively manage hardgoods and cylinder levels to reduce emergency deliveries.
