Location: Greenfield, MA - Retail shop

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

As a Counter Sales / Backup Delivery Driver (CDL B), you are the face of Airgas! You will sell medical, industrial, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and hard goods and tools to customers. The Counter Sales Associate responds to inquiries or concerns from walk-in or call-in customers and provides warehouse support as needed. The Delivery Driver safely and efficiently delivers compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers using a company-provided straight or box truck. They load, unload, deliver, and return cylinders while interacting with customers.

1. Solicit sales from walk-in and call-in customers, assisting with product identification and locating merchandise.
2. Complete and file all required paperwork promptly, documenting sales, quotes, or other information.
3. Enter sales and quote data into the computer and research customer information using the system.
4. Receive payments for merchandise or services, enter sales into the computer, and adhere to administrative procedures.
5. Restock merchandise, organize stock on shelves, and keep the sales area tidy.
6. Maintain showroom cleanliness following management procedures.
7. Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders; record deliveries; collect empty or rejected cylinders; and return empties for refilling.
8. Establish and maintain good customer relations, resolving inquiries and complaints.
9. Communicate promptly with managers or sales associates about customer issues.
10. Maintain vehicle load manifests and documents, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations (DOT, EPA, OSHA, etc.).
11. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies.
12. Assist in warehouse or dock activities as needed.

Are you a MATCH?

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of product, warehouse, or sales experience or training (or equivalent).
• Intermediate knowledge of Google and MS Office applications.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Adherence to Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and related rules and procedures.
• Strong background in gas, welding, and safety supply industry preferred.
• Valid Class A or B Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• Hazmat and Airbrake Certifications (or ability to obtain).
• At least 21 years old.
• One year of professional driving experience within the last five years with a clean record or acceptable equivalent.
