Job summary

White Cap is hiring immediately for a Counter Sales Associate in Connecticut. You will provide exceptional customer service to walk-in, phone, and will-call customers; process orders, quote prices, and manage order details in the system.

The role requires product knowledge, POS and inventory software proficiency, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Preferred candidates have experience in construction supply, forklift certification, and familiarity with Oracle or similar sales-order systems.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success providing excellent customer service.
• Experience with sales order computer software, preferably Oracle.
• Basic math skills for pricing, measurements, and order calculations.
• Ability to use computers, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and inventory software.
• Ability to lift and move products (often up to 50 lbs.)
• Spanish language proficiency.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Previous experience in construction supply, building materials, hardware, plumbing, electrical, roofing, or related industries is a plus
• Inventory management and purchasing experience.
• Attention to detail.
• knowledge of warehouse operations.
• Ability to accurately process orders, prepare quotes, and assist customers with product selection.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates exceptional customer service to our walk-in, phone, and will call customers.
• Processes orders, quotes prices, enters orders into the system and provides order information to customers. Pulls orders as required.
• Communicates product features, benefits, and warranty policy information to customers.
• Demonstrates knowledge of products and their applications (provides technical advice, troubleshoots, and helps resolve customers’ problems.)
• Upsells by identifying related products, add-on extensions, and informing customers of product promotions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
