Job summary

White Cap in California is hiring a Counter Sales Associate to deliver outstanding service to walk-in, phone, and will-call customers. You will process orders, quote prices, enter orders, pull inventory, and provide product information.

The role requires knowledge of construction products, the ability to upsell related items, and strong collaboration with warehouse and sales teams. Bilingual in English and Spanish and experience with Oracle or similar systems are preferred.

• Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
• Experience with sales order entry and inventory management software (Oracle).
• Bilingual English and Spanish with strong communication.
• Experience processing orders and returns accurately.
• Experience stocking and maintaining a showroom.

A Counter Sales Associate at White Cap…

• Demonstrates exceptional customer service to our walk-in, phone, and will call customers.
• Processes orders, quotes prices, enters orders into the system and provides order information to customers.
• Pulls orders as required.
• Communicates product features, benefits, and warranty policy information to customers.
• Demonstrates knowledge of products and their applications (provides technical advice, troubleshoots, and helps resolve customers’ problems.)
• Upsells by identifying related products, add-on extensions, and informing customers of product promotions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and building strong customer relationships.
• Experience with sales order entry and inventory management software, preferably Oracle.
• Working knowledge of construction and industrial products.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse customer base.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
• Experience processing orders and returns accurately.
• Experience stocking and maintaining a showroom.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and experience handling cash, credit card transactions, and invoices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Experience maintaining inventory accuracy and assisting with cycle counts.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with warehouse, purchasing, and sales teams.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to customer satisfaction.
