The role emphasizes excellent service to both internal and external customers in a fast-paced environment. The position requires a HS diploma and at least 1 year in retail or customer service; forklift experience is required and training is provided.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1+ years in retail or customer service; industrial sales a plus.
• Forklift experience required; training provided on hire.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform material handling tasks.
• Excellent customer service in fast-paced environment; basic math and computer skills (POS) expected.

Responsibilities

• Advise customers on tools, hardware and materials for projects.
• Demonstrate equipment use and explain product quality to customers.
• Ensure safety and PPE compliance and maintain secure environment.
• Provide excellent service to internal and external partners; build relationships.
• Complete paperwork including coding, costing and pricing accurately.
• Assist customers with order entry and transaction processing; reconcile deposits.
• Communicate costs and delivery details via phone, email or in person.
• Support branch growth through proactive outbound calls and customer outreach.
• Coordinate transfer of merchandise between locations as needed.
• Maintain showroom displays and stock shelves for a welcoming experience.

Responsibilities

• You will serve as a trusted guide, advising customers on the tools, hardware, and materials needed to successfully complete their projects.
• By demonstrating equipment use and sharing insights on product quality, you help our customers pioneer new solutions in their own work.
• Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment to ensure a secure environment for everyone.
• Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external partners, fostering understanding and long-term relationships.
• Ensures all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.
• Partners with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their specific tasks; demonstrates equipment use to build customer confidence.
• Manages order entry and processes transactions; assists the team with the reconciliation of deposits.
• Coordinates via phone, e-mail, and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery.
• Contributes to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and success of the branch.
• Coordinates the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs.
• Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive manner with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
• Stocks shelves and maintains welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience.
• Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization.

Required Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a retail or customer service environment, with exposure to industrial sales or a related field considered a plus.
• Forklift experience required, and full training will be provided upon hire.
• Must be able to operate in a drug‑free workplace.
• Capable of moving items up to 50 pounds regularly, using material handling equipment or assistance as needed.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting.
• Comfortable using basic math and computer tools, including POS systems (training provided).
• Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus.
• Attention to detail in handling transactions.
• Availability for occasional overtime when the team needs extra support.

Preferred Qualifications

• A background in gas, welding, or safety supplies is a wonderful asset.
• Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office Applications.
• A valid driver's license is helpful for this role.
• A detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities.
• The ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.
