The Counselor provides substance use services to young adults within the Post-Intensive Behavioral Health Treatment Facility (Bridge Pointe) Discharge Housing Program. They support young adults transitioning from intensive behavioral health care by delivering clinical services such as substance use assessments, case management, and ASAM Level 1 Outpatient Treatment through individual and group sessions.
The Counselor is a key member of the Behavioral Health team and plays a crucial role in supporting recovery and stability for young adults post inpatient treatment.
clinical services tasks
- Provide evidence based and culturally responsive therapeutic interventions and services to young adults transitioning out of intensive behavioral health treatment.
- Administer substance use assessments and provide individual and group counseling sessions in accordance with ASAM level of care.
- Diagnose substance use conditions in accordance with the most recently published Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
- Conduct urinary drug screenings to monitor client progress and inform treatment planning.
- Collaborate with the housing team to provide clinical input into individualized care plans and support alignment between behavioral health and housing stability goals.
- Provide clinical consultation, coordination, and referrals in collaboration with discharge planners, housing case managers, and other care team members.
- Attend weekly/bi-weekly individual meetings with Clinical Manager to review cases.
- Participate in employee case consultations and division meetings.
- Maintain awareness of the divisions within the agency and its internal resources.
- Improve knowledge about current best practices for various diagnoses and substance use concerns through research and continuing education.
- Maintain case records in an accurate and timely manner per all WAC, COA, Medicaid and King County requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external providers to support successful transitions from intensive care to long-term stability in the community.
job requirements
- Education and Experience
- Associate degree in a human-service field.
- Licensed with the State of Washington as a Substance Use Disorder Professional/Trainee.
- Fifty hours of SUDPT hours completed, preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS365 Power Platform.
- Additional Requirements
- Must satisfactorily pass criminal history check.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB) test.
- Must successfully complete the following health certification requirements within 30 days of employment: CPR, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.
