Juneau-Douglas High School: Yaada.at Kale is seeking a full-time School Counselor/Social Worker to support students at Juneau-Douglas High School. The counselor will deliver a comprehensive developmental counseling program to foster academic, career and personal/social skills.

Requirements include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in education and an Alaska Type C certificate with counseling or school social work endorsement, or the ability to obtain it after hire.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in education required.
• Alaska Type C certificate with counseling or school social work endorsement, or ability to secure certificate after hire.
• Experience collaborating with teachers and specialists in team and community-building planning is a plus.

Position Summary:Consistent with the Juneau School District's mission, the high school counselor will engage in a comprehensive, developmental counseling program designed to nurture and encourage compassionate, responsible and contributing citizens by assisting all students to develop academic, career and personal/social competencies.
Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in education.
• Valid Alaska Type C certificate with a counseling or school social work endorsement, or ability to secure certificate upon hire.
• Must be eager to collaborate with teachers and specialists in team and community building planning and activities.

Preferred Requirements:

• Masters Degree in Education from an accredited college or university preferred. Masters in Counseling or Social work from an accredited college or university may be considered.
• Experience working in an high school setting.
• Experience/background in counseling.

Compensation: Salary is dependent on experience and education. The Juneau School District offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, and the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) plan.
