Overview

The Counselor provides outpatient mental health counseling/therapy to Carle patients within the Behavioral Health Department.

Qualifications

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Master's Degree in a related field
• Experience providing psychotherapy in a clinical setting

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health counseling/therapy to patients and families through individual and/or group settings
• Perform mental health evaluations for referred patients, including assessment of need for ongoing psychotherapy or other services
• Identify concerns and make referrals to other specialists as needed
• Provide ongoing therapy services, using appropriate techniques and interventions for the patient's needs
• Work with patients to develop treatment plans, including specific goals and objectives for psychotherapy
• Complete appropriate documentation in the medical record within established timeframes
• With patient permission, provide communication back to referring providers about diagnosis, treatment plan, and progress
• Maintain patient confidentiality and fulfill provider responsibilities under HIPAA, the Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code, and the Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $29.29 per hour – $50.38 per hour.
