Job summary

Alpharus Health is seeking a Counselor II (LCDC) to provide counseling services at our residential correctional treatment center in Humble, TX. The role requires facilitating individual and group sessions, building personalized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will hold an LCDC certification, have at least six months of relevant experience, and possess a Master's or Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.

Qualifications

  • LCDC certification is required.
  • At least six months of experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling preferred.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field required.
  • Experience in a corrections environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care.
  • Document treatment progress and discharge plans, and maintain related records.
  • Perform case management and contribute to client care monitoring.

Alpharus Health is seeking a dedicated Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) to provide comprehensive substance use treatment services at our residential community corrections treatment center in Humble, TX, serving adult male and female clients.

Location:

Atascocita-2312 Atascocita Rd. Humble, TX 77396

Work Schedule:

Monday thru Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Overview:

In this role, you will facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, develop and implement personalized treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care. Working in a structured, therapeutic environment, you will play a vital role in supporting clients on their recovery journey. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while advancing your professional growth through clinical supervision, continuing education credits, and tuition reimbursement.

Certified Substance Abuse Counselors are responsible for:
  • Completes comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and develops individualized treatment plan.
  • Provides individual and group counseling and may facilitate didactic groups.
  • Documents treatment and discharge plans, and clients' progress and responses to treatment; and maintains related records and charts.
  • Performs case management and contributes to client care monitoring.
Requirements:
  • LCDC is required
  • At least six months previous experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling preferred.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field required.
  • Experience in a corrections environment preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Working with our adult nonviolent clients in a controlled and structured setting for residential treatment
Compensation (based on experience and credentials):
  • $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
  • Alpharus Health conducts annual reviews including merit increases.
