Job summary

The State of South Carolina's Vocational Rehabilitation Department seeks a dedicated Full-time Counselor to assist residents with disabilities in achieving competitive employment. You will coordinate services including vocational counseling, guidance, and direct job placement under the Transition Caseload program.

Responsibilities include assessments, career exploration, designing IPE plans, and weekly caseload management, with a commitment to equal opportunity and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, Psychology or CSPD qualifying degree.
• Ability to counsel and advise students and youth with disabilities toward a vocational goal through IPE.
• Effective communication to establish and maintain relationships with consumers, vendors, employers, medical community, and coworkers.
• Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems and draw valid conclusions.

• Master's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, Psychology or other degree qualifying under CSPD guidelines.
• Ability to counsel and advise students and youth with various physical mental disabilities toward a vocational goal through Individualized Plans for Employment (IPE) and consideration of the consumers' interest, abilities and needs.
• Should be able to communicate effectively to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consumers, vendors, employers, the medical community, and coworkers.
• Must be able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
