Sieda Community Action is seeking a Counselor I for the Behavioral Health and Treatment Services Unit. You will provide individual and group counseling, perform case management, assessments, and develop treatment plans with discharge planning for clients.
Under supervision, duties include maintaining client documentation and communicating with internal and external sources. Prior CADC certification or progress toward certification is preferred but not required.

The duties of the Counselor I will also include maintenance of persons served file documentation, and written and verbal communications with internal and external sources.

One year experience in a counseling related position preferred, but not required
Requires moderate level computer knowledge and experience, has the ability to use existing program software applications with minimal training and can perform simple maintenance to keep computers operational
This a full-time, full-year, non-exempt position with a hiring pay range of $19.53 to $22.95 per hour. Paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation leave, retirement plan, employee assistance program, and education benefits included. The duties of the Counselor I will also include maintenance of persons served file documentation, and written and verbal communications with internal and external sources.
Receives periodic supervision regarding task guidelines and completion
Limited independent decision‑making authority.
Requires varying levels of interaction with staff, customers and other agencies in a role where they represent a single program.
Involved in the planning of a single program reflective of his/her job responsibilities.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of written rules and regulations and translate that information to various program staff in a format resulting in contractual compliance in the delivery of program services.
