Job summary

WestCare Foundation in Fresno, CA is seeking a full-time counselor to provide individual and group counseling, case management, and community outreach for clients enrolled in the program. You will conduct intake, assess psychological and social functioning, and help develop and review Individual Treatment Plans.

The role requires a two-year degree (Alcohol/Drug Counseling or related field) or higher, strong communication, the ability to work in a team, and willingness to obtain required

Qualifications

• Two years of direct counseling experience with substance use disorders preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to obtain CDCR clearance.
• Valid driver’s license and WestCare vehicle insurance.
• Vaccination requirements and related testing may apply per policy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group counseling, case management, education and community outreach, and referrals.
• Oversee intake and program orientation, assess functioning, and develop and review Individual Treatment Plans.
• Facilitate family support groups, continue care, and network with community agencies.
• Maintain client treatment files and document vocational/educational activities.
• Supervise client activities and plan therapeutic sessions.
• Prepare client progress reports as needed.
• Interact with the criminal justice system and referral sources.
