Job summary

St. Anne Institute is seeking a behavioral support counselor who will provide guidance and coordination across programs to create a safe, therapeutic environment and model professional standards in line with agency policies.

This full-time role (40 hours weekly) supports scheduling, staff assignments, crisis intervention, and coordination of visits, while maintaining logs and ensuring confidentiality in a team-based setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months experience with children and families with mental/behavioral health issues, preferably in residential settings.
• Proficiency in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide agency staff with guidance in the performance of their duties.
• Manage off-site and in-house visits and coordinate staff assignments for transportation.
• Assist the Medical Clinic with scheduling of medical appointments and hospital supervision.
• Assist outside visitors and families when they arrive and direct them to appropriate areas.
• Oversee crisis situations and conduct frequent agency checks and direct staff to ensure agency safety.
• Ensure immediate post-crisis response is conducted according to Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) standards and guidelines.
• Maintain an accurate and current daily log, census, record of client movement, staff list and assigned crisis teams.

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Program Manager of Agency and Behavioral Support (ABS), the agency and behavioral support counselor will provide support, coordination and training across programs to ensure a safe and therapeutic treatment environment and serve as a role model by demonstrating professional skills and adherence to agency policies and procedures.
