Job summary

Summit BHC's Great Oaks Recovery Center in Egypt, Texas, is seeking a part-time Counselor to provide treatment and support to clients recovering from addictions or related mental health issues. The role includes conducting assessments, group and individual sessions, and assisting with treatment planning and documentation.

You will educate clients and families, assist with crisis intervention, coordinate aftercare, and liaise with insurance carriers as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in social services, addiction, mental health or closely related health services field.
• Professional experience is not required, but internship or practicum in counseling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts client assessments to identify history, current presentation and treatment needs.
• Conducts ongoing assessments of service requirements.
• Participates in treatment planning and progress reviews; documents as required.
• Conducts group, individual or family counseling sessions and uses evidence-based modalities.
• Provides client and family education regarding substance abuse and psychiatric issues.
• Ensures documentation is timely, clear and complete.
• Provides crisis intervention when needed and seeks consultation.
• Plans for aftercare documentation for assigned clients.
• Acts as liaison with insurance carriers and provides case management.
• Conducts educational workshops within the hospital and community.

## CounselorApplylocations: Great Oaks Recovery Centertime type: Part timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR126027Counselor | Great Oaks Recovery Center | Egypt, Texas**About the Job:**PURPOSE STATEMENT: The Counselor One provides treatment and support to assist clients in their recovery from addictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, or mental health disorders, assists with modifying problem behaviors; may also provide counseling services to families of clients.**Roles and Responsibilities:****ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*** Conducts client assessments focused on identifying client history, current presentation, problem areas, ongoing clinical need for treatment and risk assessment.* Conducts ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the treatment program.* Participates in and prepares client treatment planning and treatment plan progress reviews as assigned and documents as required.* Conducts assigned group counseling, individual or family sessions and implements evidence-supported treatment modalities as assigned and documents as required.* Provides client and family education relative to substance abuse/psychiatric problems.* Ensures all documentation regarding client care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.* Provides crisis intervention to clients, as needed, and seeks consultation as appropriate.* Plans for and completes required documentation of aftercare for assigned clients.* Acts as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested.* Provides case management duties for clients, ensuring individualized quality care.* Conducts educational workshops both within the Hospital and in the community as required.* Serves as a liaison with self-help groups and EAP professionals.**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:*** Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social services, addiction, mental health or closely related health services field.* Degree must be from an accredited college or university.* Professional experience is not required, but experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum training is preferred.**LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:*** Must have current and valid licensure or certification as a social worker, professional counselor, therapist or addiction counselor per state agency, including entry level licenses as issued by the state.* CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).* First aid may be required based on state or facility.**WORK LOCATION:**This position is onsite and is not a remote position.**SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:**This position is an Individual Contributor.Why Great Oaks Recovery Center?Great Oaks Recovery Center offers a comprehensive benefit plan and a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
