Qualificações

• The Qualified applicant will have completed at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and in addition, will have completed semester hours of graduate study including a supervised internship.
• The applicant must hold or be eligible for valid provisional New York Certificate as a Social Worker.
• The candidate should show evidence of continued graduate study toward a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) and permanent certification.

Responsabilidades

• Implement the Social Work Program.
• Participate as a member of the Clinical Team to coordinate interdisciplinary efforts.
• Act as a liaison between the school, the home, and other agencies concerned with the child’s program.
• Complete intake procedures timely and accurately, communicating with program staff and outside referring agencies.
• Ensure current social history is available for all children in attendance.
• Maintain student files with all necessary reports and forms.
• Advocate for the child and parent regarding educational planning.
• Promote constructive parent involvement in school activities.
• Consult with school personnel in planning educational programs to meet the special needs of multiply disabled children.
• Conduct individual and group counselling for students and parents as prescribed on the IEP, and provide written progress reports as required.
• Participate in training programs within the school and conduct in-service programs and demonstrations for students, staff, and parents.
• Promote home-school relationships by regular direct contact with parents and other family members.
• Promote the school and its programs through regular contact with school districts and other referring agencies.

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

Education

The Qualified applicant will have completed at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and in addition, will have completed semester hours of graduate study including a supervised internship. The applicant must hold or be eligible for valid provisional New York Certificate as a Social Worker.

The qualified applicant will show evidence of continued graduate study leading to a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) and permanent certification.

Experience

It is preferred that the qualified applicant will have completed one (1) full year of successful direct experience in a school setting as a Social Worker.
