Job summary

Wesco is seeking an in-house Counsel to represent the organization and manage a variety of legal matters, including complex commercial and corporate tasks, with expertise in business litigation, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, securities, and financing. You will provide strategic counsel to management on business activities, transactions, projects, and negotiations.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.
• PA bar or other jurisdiction appropriate bar license required.
• Excellent academic credentials required.
• 5 years of significant experience in a law firm or in-house department, preferably for a large corporation.
• 5 years of experience as an attorney with subject matter expertise in relevant practice areas.
• 5 years of experience in complex legal document drafting, review, and negotiations.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including drafting complex legal contracts and documents.
• Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Proficient in legal research and technology tools.

AsCounsel you will be responsible for representing the organization and handling various legal matters, including complex matters, and leading projects and negotiations with specialized knowledge in one or more legal practice areas, including business litigation, commercial law and sales, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, securities and financing, etc. You will be responsible for providing strategic counsel, advice, and legal services to management regarding business activities, transactions, projects and negotiations. You may supervise and provide guidance to associate counsel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for handling and leading a variety of legal matters, including complex legal matters, and projects with specialized knowledge in various practice areas.


• Responsible for leading project teams and cross-functional groups on a wide range of legal and compliance matters.


• Collaborates with business leaders and cross-functional teams to effectively mitigate commercial risks and support corporate strategies and business objectives.


• Expertise in relevant legal practice areas and provides counsel related to those areas to business clients.


• Provides practical and actionable advice to management on legal matters, including developments and changes in laws and regulations, and develops policies and ensures compliance in those areas.


• Negotiates, drafts, and reviews legal documents and agreements to accomplish business objectives and serves as a legal advocate for the company with external constituents.


• Supervises and provides direction to other team members and may lead a practice area.
