Job description

Position Overview

Join a high‑caliber Legal & Compliance team building and scaling a global AI enterprise program at a leading asset manager. This strategic role focuses on designing and operationalizing AI policies and governance frameworks to enable responsible innovation across investment, client‑facing, HR, and operational AI use cases. The work is global and requires coordination with stakeholders in Europe, Canada, and Asia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, iterate, and operationalize global AI policies, governance frameworks, experimentation protocols, risk assessments, and playbooks across investment research, client‑facing tools, HR/talent processes, and operational automation.
  • Ensure multijurisdictional alignment (EU AI Act, GDPR, emerging U.S. and Asian frameworks) with smooth cross‑time‑zone coordination.
  • Leverage experience negotiating third‑party data vendor, SaaS and AI provider contracts to build scalable AI/cloud/data vendor templates and negotiation playbooks that integrate information security and global risk requirements.
  • Partner with investment teams, client groups, HR, compliance, information security, data office, procurement, and global risk to embed pragmatic guardrails into high‑impact AI initiatives.
  • Provide clear, commercially oriented guidance, training, and governance committee support to accelerate responsible innovation and risk‑aware decisions.
  • Track regulatory and technology developments across the U.S., Canada, EU, and Asia and translate insights into actionable framework updates.
  • Support governance decisions around complex AI applications such as model‑supported research workflows, generative AI client tools, and automated HR analytics.
Required Qualifications
  • JD plus active CA or NY Bar (or eligible for CA or NY In‑House Counsel registration).
  • 3‑4 years experience in law focusing on technology transactions, data/privacy, or financial services regulatory counseling.
  • Demonstrated success designing or operationalizing AI governance frameworks with practical integration of regulatory requirements, information security and global risk.
  • Strong transactional foundation with experience negotiating IT vendor, SaaS and AI provider contracts and developing AI/cloud/data templates and playbooks.
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex, multijurisdictional projects.
  • Demonstrated experimentation with AI tools in legal practice.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with credibility across senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3‑4 years experience with a top‑tier law firm and/or a leading AI‑focused financial services in‑house legal team.
  • Experience with generative AI in investment, client‑facing, or HR applications.
  • Familiarity with legal tech or contract AI platforms and prior work building or experimenting with AI agents for Legal & Compliance use cases.
  • Regional familiarity with Europe and Asia regulatory considerations and/or additional language fluency.
Benefits
  • Generous time‑away and health benefits from day one, with flexible work options.
  • 2‑for‑1 matching gifts for charitable contributions and opportunities to secure annual grants.
  • Access to on‑demand professional development resources.
