Job summary

The Occupational Therapy Assistant at MultiCare Health System provides direct patient treatment under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist in a hospital-based outpatient clinic.

This 0.4 FTE daytime position requires Washington state OTA licensure, current BLS, and at least one year of adult rehabilitation experience; responsibilities include treatment procedures, goal planning, and collaboration with the rehab team to support patient independence and functional gains.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Washington state.
• Minimum one year of experience in adult rehabilitative services preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform occupational therapy treatment procedures, modalities, and training to improve functional ability.
• Confer with OT prior to starting a treatment program regarding goals, plans, and precautions.
• Contact supervising OT when intervention changes are needed or when medical issues arise.
• Provide recommendations for assistive devices and equipment to improve home function and independence.
• Observe, record, and report patient response to treatment and changes in condition; prepare progress notes.
• Consult with rehabilitation team and other health care staff for a collaborative approach.

Position Summary

The Occupational Therapy Assistant at MultiCare is an excellent opportunity to provide direct patient treatment under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role offers you the capacity to apply your service orientation and good judgment toward the comprehensive care of occupational therapy patients.

Responsibilities

• You will perform occupational therapy treatment procedures, modalities, and occupational training for the purpose of improving functional ability
• You will confer with OT prior to beginning a treatment program regarding goals, plans of treatment, treatment procedures, modalities, and precautions
• You will contact the supervising OT when direct intervention is needed to change an occupational therapy treatment plan or when medical problems exist that necessitate attention
• You will provide recommendations for assistive devices and equipment as needed to improve function and independence at home
• You will observe, record, and report the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient's condition, preparing clinical progress notes in accordance with departmental policy
• You will consult with other members of the rehabilitation team and other health care personnel to provide a collaborative therapeutic approach consistent with the needs of each patient

Requirements

• Licensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Washington
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in adult rehabilitative services preferred
• Current BLS required

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $33.30 - $55.04 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
