Job summary

The Center at Northridge in Westminster, CO is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our rehabilitation team. Working under the supervision of an OT, you will provide high-quality services to residents to improve independence and mobility in a skilled nursing setting.

You will collaborate with nurses and physicians, document outcomes in EMR, and educate residents and families on home exercise programs. Day shift, compassionate care, and safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Valid COTA certification from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure in good standing.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to physically assist residents with mobility and transfers.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist to help residents regain independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist residents with exercises, adaptive equipment training, and cognitive interventions.
• Monitor resident progress and provide detailed documentation of treatment sessions and outcomes.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, therapists, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all residents during therapy sessions.
• Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs and the use of assistive devices.
