Job summary

Adoration Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Bluefield, WV home health team on a part-time basis. You will support the occupational therapist, provide 1:1 patient care, and help patients regain independence in daily activities.

Applicants should have a degree from a certified COTA program, current certification, and at least 2 years of neuro-rehabilitation experience, including brain injury care. CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program.
• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification.
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and neuro-rehabilitation techniques.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience assisting in the assessment and management of traumatic brain injury or related neurological conditions.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation technique.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing activities to restore and reinforce task performance and promote health and self-sufficiency.
• Conduct community reintegration activities to support occupational therapy needs during physical activity.
• Provide training to individuals and others involved in rehabilitation, and document results of the training.
• Support individuals' plan of treatment by documenting and reporting status changes to the rehabilitation specialist, clinical coordinator, attending physician, and other treatment team members as appropriate.
