Job summary

A home healthcare company in Sikeston is looking for a certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide expert, patient-centered care. You will work independently while having team support, and offer flexible scheduling options in a fulfilling work environment. The ideal candidate must have a degree in occupational therapy and relevant certifications. This position also includes medical benefits, wellness programs, and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience assisting in the assessment and management of traumatic brain injury or related neurological conditions.
• Must have knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in the implementation of vocational and educational activities.
• Conduct community reintegration activities to assist individuals with their occupational therapy needs.
• Document and report status changes to treatment team members.

Coverage area: Cape, Scott, Bulter, Wayne, Stoddar, Mississippi, Dunklin, and Pemiscot counties

Schedule: PRN

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in the implementation of vocational and educational activities designed to restore and reinforce individuals' task performance and promote their overall health and self-sufficiency
• Conduct community reintegration activities to assist individuals with their occupational therapy needs during physical activity
• Provide training to individuals and any others involved in their rehabilitation, and documenting results of the training
• Support individuals' plan of treatment by documenting and reporting status changes to the rehabilitation specialist, clinical coordinator, attending physician, and other treatment team members as appropriate

Qualifications

• Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program
• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and neuro-rehabilitation techniques
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience assisting in the assessment and management of traumatic brain injury or related neurological conditions
