Job summary

PruittHealth Corporation is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Black Mountain team in North Carolina. This role supports the therapy plan, documents patient progress, and collaborates with supervising therapists to deliver high-quality care.

• Valid state OT license required or eligible for licensure in the state of practice.
• Graduated from ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy program; NBCOT exam eligibility or passed.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of the occupational therapy plan of care as prescribed by the evaluating therapist.
• Document patient progress and communicate findings in a timely manner.
• Follow facility policies, ensure safety, and participate in orientations and trainings.
• Assist in prioritizing patient care needs and respond to changes in status.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of the occupational therapy care plan and treatment to patients as prescribed by the evaluating therapist and physician according to the State Practice Acts
• Perform clinical tasks, and communicate and document tasks in a timely and accurate manner
• Follow established policies and procedures as related to the scope of practice
• Recognize and respond to priorities in patient care
• Complete all required orientation, in-services, and trainings successfully
• Perform other related duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor

Qualifications

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Valid professional license in the state of practice
• Graduate of ACOTE accredited school and eligible to take or has passed the NBCOT exam. If foreign-trained, must meet the same qualifications as U.S. educational program requirements
