Disney Live Entertainment seeks an Associate Costume Development Manager to lead costume design projects from planning to delivery and installation in Anaheim, CA. You will work with executives to hourly union staff, guiding scope, timelines, and materials while balancing cost and quality.

The role emphasizes collaboration with costume designers, buyers, and production teams, ensuring a seamless transition from concept to production while maintaining creative intent and manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in garment product development and leading project teams.
  • Ability to use financial systems to coordinate project budgets.
  • Experience delivering compelling, insightful presentations to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of garment construction and fabric selection.
  • Experience communicating with diverse collaborators (written and verbal).
  • Willingness to work weekends/nights/holidays.
  • Passport or willingness to obtain one.
  • Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning including scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Participate in creative development to define scope and ROM estimates.
  • Coordinate execution: buyer oversight, work authorizations, prioritization, reviews.
  • Balance cost, quality, and timeliness to hit targets.
  • Ensure design intent aligns with manufacturing and operations.
  • Collaborate with Costume Designer and buyers on scope and materials.
  • Encourage innovation in materials and construction methods.
  • Document designs for PLM and other costume collateral.
  • Present designs to partners at various levels.
